Below is the 2004-2005 calendar of fencing tournaments in Florida. If you are interested in competing in a tournament, you must join the United States Fencing Association (USFA) and you must also have your own equipment to use. You can register for the USFA at the tournament or by downloading this form.

To fence in a tournament, you must have the following equipment:

  • Jacket
  • Mask
  • Knickers (fencing pants)
  • Plastron (underarm protector)
  • Socks that reach the bottom of the knickers
  • Athletic shoes
  • Lame (metallic vest)
  • Body cords (at least 2 working)
  • Weapons (at least 2 working)
If you have never competed in a fencing tournament before, please consult the coach for advice on anything you might need or any rules. It is also recommended that you read the rule book to become familiar with the rules of fencing.
